She also had another major moment during the ceremony after winning Video of the Year for her hit song The Fate of Ophelia. Swift dedicated the award to the late country music icon Dolly Parton and praised her influence and storytelling.

The singer also used the ceremony to premiere the music video for her new single, Patient Zero, which features actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson.

Despite her historic night, Swift did not win the coveted Artist of the Year award, which went to Madonna.

The 2026 VMAs also featured major performances and tributes, while legendary rock band Nirvana received the Video Vanguard Award.

Swift’s latest achievement adds another major record to her career and further strengthens her position as one of the most decorated artists in MTV VMA history.
