Tension in Osun as Adeleke’s Aide ‘Emir’ Is Shot Dead in Motor Park Dispute

Tension has gripped parts of Osun State following the killing of Olamilekan Ajagungbade, popularly known as Emir, an associate of Governor Ademola Adeleke and a member of the Accord Party.

Ajagungbade was reportedly shot dead in Ile Ife during a dispute linked to the leadership of commercial motor parks in the area. He was said to have been involved in efforts to gain control of motor park operations from the existing leadership.

Governor Adeleke has ordered the immediate arrest of those suspected to be responsible for the killing and directed security agencies to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The governor also announced plans to reintroduce a Park Management System in the state, with measures expected to regulate the activities of transport unions and restore order across motor parks.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm while security agencies work to identify and prosecute those responsible for the killing.
