Since retiring from professional football in 2018, Anichebe has built a successful business career through the Lumira Group, an investment company with interests spanning sports, healthcare, education and infrastructure. His growing influence in the business world has fuelled speculation that football club ownership was only a matter of time, especially after he was previously linked with a proposed takeover of another English club.
During his playing career, Anichebe made more than 200 Premier League appearances and earned a reputation as a powerful striker. He represented Everton for the majority of his career before spells with West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland. On the international stage, he earned 11 caps for Nigeria and proudly represented the Super Eagles at senior level.
