Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has come to the defence of controversial social media personality DJ Chicken following his arrest and ongoing legal battle, insisting that the entertainer should not be kept behind bars over the allegations against him. Sowore also made a fresh allegation against Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, a claim that has further intensified public debate surrounding the high profile case.

DJ Chicken was recently arrested after a viral video in which he allegedly made threatening remarks directed at Seyi Tinubu. He has since been arraigned in court, with the case adjourned for further proceedings. The incident has generated widespread reactions on social media, dividing opinion between those who believe the law should take its course and others who argue that the charges are excessive.

Reacting to the development, Sowore publicly declared that DJ Chicken does not deserve to remain in prison and offered to provide legal assistance to secure his release. According to the activist, every Nigerian is entitled to due process and personal liberty, maintaining that detention should not be used as punishment before a court reaches a final verdict.  ..READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE .

His comments have attracted mixed reactions, with supporters applauding his willingness to speak out, while critics accused him of escalating an already sensitive matter. As of the time of reporting, there has been no official response from Seyi Tinubu regarding Sowore’s latest claims.

The controversy has become one of Nigeria’s most talked about entertainment and political stories, highlighting the growing intersection between celebrity culture, social media expression and the country’s legal system. With DJ Chicken’s court case still ongoing and Sowore now actively involved in his defence, many Nigerians are expected to keep a close watch on how the legal proceedings unfold in the coming weeks.
