Celebrity businessman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has stirred fresh political conversations online after revealing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not fully trust him because of his previous support for former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi during the 2023 general election.
The nightlife entrepreneur, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, made the statement during a livestream conversation with popular streamer Peller. In the now-viral video, Cubana Chief Priest admitted that his political history and ethnic background may still be influencing how he is perceived within the current administration. The socialite, who once openly campaigned for Peter Obi and the Obidient movement ahead of the 2023 presidential election, has in recent times become visibly close to the APC establishment and supporters of President Tinubu. He currently serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the Pro-Tinubu City Boys Movement and has repeatedly shown public support for the president and his allies.
His latest revelation is coming shortly after his failed attempt to secure the APC ticket for the House of Representatives seat representing Orsu, Orlu and Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State ahead of the 2027 elections. Following his defeat in the party primary, he received public encouragement from Seyi Tinubu, who urged him not to lose hope despite the setback.
