Nigeria and France have continued to engage in areas including trade, investment, security, energy, technology, culture and other sectors of mutual interest.

The relationship between Abuja and Paris has received increased attention in recent years, with both countries seeking to expand economic and diplomatic cooperation. Tinubu previously visited France in 2023 and 2024, including a state visit during which both countries discussed investment and other areas of strategic partnership.
