Fresh details about the workforce and salary structure at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery have emerged, offering an insight into how much employees at one of Nigeria’s biggest industrial projects earn.

The refinery reportedly has a workforce of 4,106 employees, with workers spread across different salary bands depending on their roles, responsibilities and level of experience.

According to the disclosed figures, 706 employees earn below N5.5 million annually, while 1,619 workers receive between N5.5 million and N7.5 million every year. Another 1,691 employees earn more than N7.5 million annually...READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE .

The figures mean that a significant proportion of the refinery’s workforce falls within the higher salary categories, with more than 40 percent of employees reportedly earning above N7.5 million per year.

Workers earning above N7.5 million annually receive more than N625,000 per month when their yearly income is divided across 12 months, although the reported salary bands should not be interpreted as exact monthly salaries because actual compensation may include allowances, bonuses and other employment benefits.

The salary information has generated interest because of the scale of employment created by the refinery and the wide range of specialised positions required to operate such a complex facility.

The refinery employs people across areas including engineering, operations, maintenance, technology, administration, logistics, finance and other technical and support functions. The different salary categories therefore reflect the varied responsibilities and qualifications required across the organisation.

The emergence of the figures also comes at a time when Nigerians are paying increasing attention to employment opportunities and remuneration in major private sector companies. With rising living costs and ongoing discussions about wages, information about compensation at large industrial employers has attracted considerable public interest.

However, the figures do not establish the average salary of a Dangote Refinery employee. They only show the number of workers falling within particular annual income categories. Individual earnings can differ significantly depending on job position, experience, qualifications and other employment benefits.

The refinery, which has become one of Nigeria’s most significant industrial investments, continues to play a major role in the country’s petroleum sector. Its workforce represents another important part of the project’s wider economic impact, particularly through direct employment and the spending generated by thousands of workers and their families.

The disclosed salary structure has therefore provided Nigerians with a rare glimpse into the remuneration profile of employees working at the massive facility, while also highlighting the range of income levels within one of the country’s most closely watched industrial companies.
