One of African football’s most recognisable supporters has finally returned to the global stage after an unexpected setback kept him away from his country’s opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Michel Kuka Mboladinga, popularly known as “Lumumba Vea,” made his first appearance of the tournament during the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Group K encounter against Colombia after completing a mandatory Ebola related quarantine.
