Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo’s final social media post has drawn attention after he died in a helicopter crash hours later.
Chivayo, 43, was among six people killed in the crash near Marondera on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. His wife, Lucy Muteke, also died.
Before the accident, Chivayo posted a message titled “Appreciating Relationships Built Over Decades… Saved the Best for Last,” celebrating two lawyers who had supported him for years...READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE .
He described Wilson Tatenda Manase as a mentor and father figure, gifting him a 2026 Lexus GX 550 worth about US$220,000 and US$250,000 in cash.
He also honoured Sylvester Hashiti with a 2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography and US$500,000.
The post drew renewed attention after Chivayo’s death, particularly because of the phrase “saved the best for last.” Some followers called the timing eerie, although there is no evidence he knew the crash was imminent.
Authorities said all six people aboard died, while investigations into the cause continue.
Known for his lavish lifestyle and philanthropy, Chivayo often gave away vehicles and large sums of money. His final post, initially a tribute to longtime associates, became an emotional farewell after his sudden death.
