Manchester City have been found guilty of serious breaches of Premier League financial rules following a lengthy investigation into the club.
An independent commission found the club guilty of the charges relating to financial regulations covering the period between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons. City were also found guilty of most of the charges relating to their failure to cooperate with the Premier League investigation.

The Premier League had brought more than 100 charges against Manchester City, including allegations concerning financial reporting, sponsorship revenue, player and manager remuneration, and profitability and sustainability regulations.
The commission’s findings do not yet determine the punishment the club will receive. A separate process will decide what sanctions, if any, should be imposed on Manchester City.
Possible sanctions reported in connection with the case include financial penalties, points deductions and other sporting consequences, although no final punishment has been announced.
Manchester City have rejected the findings, describing the verdict as disappointing and surprising. The club has indicated that it intends to appeal, arguing that the decision contains errors of law, principle and fact.
