Self acclaimed Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa has reacted publicly to the six year prison sentence handed to him by a Finnish court, maintaining that he has been wrongly convicted and expressing confidence that the truth will eventually prevail.
In a statement released after the judgment, Ekpa dismissed the court’s decision, insisting that he was innocent of the allegations brought against him. He declared that the wrong person had been imprisoned and vowed to continue challenging the verdict through the legal process. Ekpa was recently sentenced by the Päijät Häme District Court in Finland after being found guilty of terrorism related offences, including inciting terrorism and participating in the activities of a terrorist organisation.
