The final was fiercely contested from the opening whistle, with both clubs appearing in a major European final for the first time in their histories. Rayo Vallecano fought bravely and created a few dangerous moments, but Crystal Palace defended with discipline and determination to preserve their narrow lead until the final whistle.

The triumph also marked a fairytale ending for Palace manager Oliver Glasner, who is set to leave the club after an extraordinary spell in charge. Glasner guided the London side to unprecedented success, transforming them from a struggling Premier League outfit into cup winners on both domestic and European stages. The Conference League crown now becomes the latest achievement in what many supporters are calling the greatest era in the club’s history.

The atmosphere inside the stadium was electric throughout the encounter, although the match experienced a brief pause in the first half due to a medical emergency involving a supporter in the crowd. Play later resumed and both sets of fans continued to create a memorable occasion under the lights in Leipzig.

For Rayo Vallecano, the defeat brought heartbreak at the end of a remarkable European adventure. The Spanish side had earned praise across Europe for their fearless performances throughout the tournament and arrived in the final hoping to complete one of football’s greatest underdog stories. Despite the loss, their spirited display earned admiration from supporters and neutrals alike.

Crystal Palace’s victory also guarantees qualification for next season’s Europa League, ensuring the club will once again compete on the European stage. For Palace supporters, the night in Leipzig will forever remain one of the proudest moments in the club’s long and emotional history.
