The Osun State Government has raised serious concern over what it described as an attempted assassination on popular Nigerian singer and politician’s son, Adebayo Adeleke, widely known as B-Red, in Osogbo, the state capital, in an incident that has triggered fresh security fears within the state.
According to the government’s account, the incident occurred around 3:30pm in the Oke Fia area, not far from the Government House, where B-Red was reportedly trailed by suspected armed hoodlums. The attackers were said to have been moving on motorcycles alongside a vehicle, allegedly coordinating their movements in what appeared to be a planned operation aimed at intercepting him.
Eyewitness reports suggest that the situation quickly escalated into a tense chase through parts of the city, with the singer forced to take evasive action as the suspected attackers allegedly attempted to close in on him.
